Instruction
Achieve More Reading Center provides private, one-on-one Orton-Gillingham instruction to all its students, from kindergarten to adult. We typically recommend twice weekly sessions, and we’re unable to provide services to students who can’t attend weekly.
Dyslexic children grow up to be dyslexic adults. A person with dyslexia does not need to be fixed or cured. Instead, they simply need to be taught the way they will learn best. And when they are, they can experience just as much success and fulfillment as anyone else.
Our weekly lessons focus on reading, writing, spelling, fluency, vocabulary development, and comprehension skills.
Assessments
Achieve More Reading Center provides comprehensive dyslexia screening assessments for children and adults. The assessment typically take 2-4 hours and can be broken up into two sessions. The results of this assessment will help us identify the best plan and course of action for you or your child’s instruction.
Comprehensive dyslexia screening assessments include:
• Records review
• Skills assessment
• Tests for phonological awareness
• Word analysis
• Spelling
• Tests for word reading efficiency
• Tests for reading fluency
• Evaluation of writing samples
• Oral and silent reading
• Rapid automatic naming
Workshops & Seminars
The team at Achieve More Reading Center wholeheartedly believes in the effectiveness of our Structured Literacy Approach. It is used in many reading programs as an effective way to teach literacy, and we believe it should be taught in all schools. However – it isn’t, and that’s where we come in. In addition to teaching the program, we offer workshops and seminars for educators and parents who want to know more.
Professional Development Seminars
Whether you’re an educator, homeschooler, or parent, our professional development workshops and seminars are key to learning more about how to help.
